" Kite drawings is one of a series on Weifang kites. (...). The Weifang kites introduced in the book are kites with soft-wing, kites with rugged wing, train kites with dragon head, kites in the shape of plank and bucket-shaped kites. The drawing is including complete-work drawing, frame drawing, spare drawing, assembly drawing and color-painting drawing. According to the drawings kite makers may design, survey and draw the blueprint and then make kites with it."

 

There are explanations how to draw the kite patterns, the bamboo curved spars, many useful tips. There are explanations how to draw the kite patterns, the bamboo curved spars, many useful tips. For example there is the drawing for the teeth of the dragon. Everything is on scale. The drawings are excellent, well detailed and entirely marked on. Visibly, they are done by a skill professional. This book is really a reference for these kites.

 

Don't expect explanations on the way to work bamboo spars, to glue cloth or paper on the bamboo frame, how to paint it. I imagine that it is in another book, but I don't have it.
